- A product FAQ answers questions about this product: shipping, returns, fit, use and what's in it.
- Every answer: one fact, two lines, exact numbers, and only what your store says.
- You find the real questions in support messages, reviews and return reasons.
- They belong close to the buy button, or should reach the shopper when they hesitate.
A product FAQ, not a store FAQ
A store FAQ page answers general questions: how to pay, where you ship, how to get in touch. A product page FAQ answers the questions a shopper asks about this product, at the moment they decide whether to buy it.
So it is shorter, more specific, and belongs close to the buy button.
The question types, with examples
The examples are written for an imaginary product, a 30 ml face serum. Write your own answers only from your store's facts.
Shipping: when will it arrive?
When will it arrive?

What if it isn't right for me?
You have 30 days from delivery to send it back, even opened, for a full refund.
Fit: will it suit me?
Is it gentle on sensitive skin?
It is fragrance-free and tested on sensitive skin. If you have a known allergy, check the ingredient list.
Use: how do I use it?
How do I use it?
Two or three drops on clean skin, morning and evening, before your moisturizer.
What's in it
What is it made of?
Hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and aloe leaf. The full list is on the product page.
Other products get other questions: sizing for clothes, compatibility for electronics, warranty for devices, materials and care for furniture.
Rules for writing the answers
- Only your own facts. Every answer must match what your product page and store policies say.
- One fact per answer. Someone who asked about shipping doesn't need to read about returns too.
- Short. Two lines, not a paragraph.
- Exact numbers. 30 days, 3 to 5 business days, $50. Not a few days.
- No promises your policy doesn't make. If returns are for unopened items only, say so.
- In your shoppers' words. Write the question as a shopper would ask it, not as a heading.
How to find your real questions
- Support emails and messages: what people ask again and again.
- Reviews: what surprised buyers, for better or worse.
- Return reasons: what buyers didn't know before buying.
- What shoppers type when none of the ready questions fits them.
Where to show them
- On the product page, in an accordion or a tab next to the details. Anyone who scrolls can read them.
- In a popup at the moment of hesitation, so the questions reach the shopper even if they didn't scroll.
What about Google? Google no longer shows FAQs as extra lines in search results: in 2023 it limited them to government and health sites, and in 2026 it removed them from Search. A product FAQ helps your shoppers, not your Google listing. Source: Google's update on removing FAQ rich results.
