- The only form on the site is the waiting list: your email and, if you choose, updates and offers too. There is no sign-up and no account.
- Google Analytics loads only if you approve it in the cookie banner.
- We don't sell information or hand it over for advertising.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete information about you. We will reply within 30 days at most.
01Who we are, and what this policy covers
The site is run by BOOX.
For any privacy question or request: [email protected].
This policy covers this website: the main page, the sample popup on it, the waiting list, and the policy and help pages. It does not cover the BOOX app that you install in a Shopify store. What the app collects and keeps is set out in the app's privacy policy and the app's terms of use.
02What information reaches us
The site has no sign-up and no user account. This is what happens when you browse it:
- The site's server. The site is served by Cloudflare. As with any website, the server that serves the pages receives your IP address, your browser type, the page you asked for and the time. We don't keep server logs of our own. The fonts, pictures and films are served from the site itself, not from another service.
- Analytics, only if you approve. The main page is built to work with Google Analytics, and it loads only after you approve "Analytics" in the banner. When it runs, it shows us how many people visit the main page, where they came from, roughly which country and city, on which device, and what they clicked: the buttons, the FAQ, the film, the waiting list and the sample popup. It does not receive a name, an email or any text you typed. The policy and help pages don't load it.
- Visit counting. When the main page loads, the site adds 1 to that day's count, together with one word about the source: what the link you came from says (for example facebook) or the name of the site that sent you. No IP address, cookie or other detail about you is kept, and nobody can tell from it who visited. This is how we know how many visited and from which channel. The same when someone joins the waiting list: a number per day and per source, without the email.
- The sample popup. The BOOX popup at the end of the page is a sample. Whatever you type in it is not sent anywhere. If you approved analytics, Google Analytics records only that you opened it and which question you clicked.
- The waiting list. If you join, we keep your email address, when you joined, the consent wording you saw, and whether you also asked for updates and offers, and when. To stop the form being flooded, we also keep, for one hour, a one-way fingerprint of your IP address, not the address itself.
- An email you send us. If you write to us, we receive your email address, the name shown with it and what you wrote.
03Why, and on what basis
We use information only to:
- Show you the site and protect it from faults and misuse.
- Understand how the site is used and improve it (analytics, and only if you approved).
- Reply to you when you write to us.
- Send you one email when BOOX is ready to install, if you joined the waiting list. Updates and offers only if you ticked that in the form.
We don't sell the information, and we don't give it to anyone to use for advertising.
You are under no legal obligation to give us information. You can browse the site without giving us a name, an email or any other detail. If you don't write to us, we simply won't be able to reply.
Joining the waiting list is optional. Without an email we simply can't let you know.
05How long we keep it
- Emails you send us: as long as we need them to handle your request and keep a record of it. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
- Analytics data, if you approved: Google keeps the data about each visitor for 14 months. Summary reports, with no details about you, remain after that.
- Server logs: we don't keep server logs. Cloudflare processes browsing requests to serve and protect the site, under its own privacy policy.
- Your choice in the cookie banner: kept only in your browser, for a year at most, or until you delete it. It is not sent to us.
- The waiting list: if you didn't ask for updates, we delete your email after we send the message that BOOX is ready to install. If you asked for updates and offers, it stays until you ask to be removed. You can ask to be removed at any time.
- The visit and sign-up counts: numbers only, with no details about you. Kept as long as the site is active.
- The IP fingerprint kept when you join the list: one hour, and then it is deleted automatically.
06Your rights
Write to [email protected], and we will handle your request:
- To see the information we have about you. We will make it available within 30 days at most.
- To correct information that is wrong, incomplete or out of date. If we refuse, we will tell you why in writing.
- To delete information about you, unless the law requires us to keep it.
- To withdraw consent to analytics at any time, through the cookie settings.
- To remove yourself from the waiting list at any time: write to us, or reply to any email we send you. We will confirm the removal in writing.
We may ask you to confirm the request comes from you, for example by writing from the same email address. If we don't reply, or you are not satisfied with the answer, you can contact the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority.
More details: Contact.
08Security and changes to this policy
The site keeps personal information only in the waiting list, and only we can read it. Your address is not shown to anyone and never comes back from the server to the browser. Don't email us passwords or payment details; we will never ask for them. No security is perfect, and we can't promise a fault will never happen.
If we change anything material, we will update this page and the date at the top. The change applies from the day it is published. If the change concerns the waiting list, we will also email the people on it.
