- Without asking, the site stores only what it needs: your choice in the banner.
- Google Analytics cookies are stored only if you approve "Analytics".
- The site has no marketing or advertising cookies.
- You can change your choice at any time: Cookie settings.
01What cookies and browser storage are
A cookie is a small piece of information a website stores in your browser and sends back on later visits. There are also two kinds of browser storage that work in a similar way: permanent storage, which stays after you close the browser, and tab storage, which is deleted when you close the tab. On this page, all of them are called "cookies".
Necessary cookies are ones the site can't work properly without, and they don't require consent. All the others are stored only after you approve.
02What is stored without asking
Only necessary items, all of them the site's own. None of them is sent to us or to anyone else:
| Name | Stored by | What for | How long | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
boox-consent-v1 | The site, in permanent storage | Remembers what you chose in the cookie banner, and when | A year, or until you delete it from your browser. After a year, or if we change the categories, we ask again | Necessary |
03What is stored only with your consent
If you approve "Analytics", the main page loads Google Analytics, and it stores these cookies. The policy and help pages don't load it.
| Name | Stored by | What for | How long | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics, on our domain. The data is sent to Google, in the United States and other countries | Tells visitors apart, to count how many people came | Up to two years, Google's default | Analytics |
_ga_ followed by an ID | Google Analytics, on our domain. The data is sent to Google, in the United States and other countries | Keeps the state of the current visit | Up to two years, Google's default | Analytics |
Google Analytics receives the visit data: that you visited the main page, where you came from, your device and browser type, an approximate location, and what you clicked on it (the buttons, the FAQ, the film, the waiting list and the sample popup). It does not receive a name, an email or any text you typed. Clicks from before you chose are kept only in the page's memory, and are sent only if you approve.
05How to change your choice
The "Cookie settings" link is also at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing is exactly as easy as approving.
When you turn analytics off, Google Analytics stops sending, and its cookies are deleted from the site. If you turned it off on another page, they are deleted when you return to the main page. What was already sent stays with Google until the end of its retention period, 14 months. Summary reports, with no details about you, remain after that.
06Deleting and blocking in your browser
You can delete everything the site stored through your browser's settings, usually in the privacy section, under "Cookies and site data". After you delete it, the banner will show again.
You can also block cookies completely. The site will keep working, but it won't remember your choice, and the banner will show on every visit.
07Updates
When we add or remove a tool, we will update the list on this page and the date at the top on the same day. If we change the categories in the banner, we will ask you again.
